Northwell Health
New York's largest health system. A $1.2B Epic go-live. I joined and built the analytics function — the platform, the process, and the team.
SME and system of record for 10,000+ employees, contractors, and vendors across four waves. Report to the AVP of Revenue Cycle. Lead two analysts. Serve 100+ managers. The number executives act on comes from a SQL Server platform I designed: 11 schemas, 84 views, a 14-step daily pipeline, 36+ Python scripts, and a QA harness at zero exceptions.
Registration effort dropped more than 50% once no-show reporting and predictive class placement ran twice a day. A report that used to take several people a week now lands in under ten minutes.
What shipped
- Analytics database layer — Epic, HR, LMS, and vendor data in one place, tuned for analyst self-service.
- Morning Review — the human gate. Nothing writes to the source of truth until it clears.
- RCM Training Tracker — 17 live sheets, rebuilt from SQL in ~20 seconds. Replaced ~62,500 hand-maintained formulas.
- Wave / job-role change report — scans 100,000+ user feeds so people don't fall out of training scope overnight.
The engineering is public, sanitized: analytics-toolkit. The data stays where it belongs. The method doesn't.
